A downloadable game for Windows, macOS, and Linux

Hey!

This is the first playable demo of my Rhythm Beat 'em Up game Beat Warrior.

I hope you'll enjoy this early version. Any feedback is of course welcome!

There are currently 2 songs: the tutorial song and Crab Rave by Noisestorm. In the next releases, people will be able to make and share their own beatmaps.

If you're struggling with Crab Rave, that's normal (I struggled too). Don't hesitate to watch the video at 0.75 or 0.5 speed if you have trouble understanding the patterns (link: https://youtu.be/Ax1RnCznsm0)

Menu music: Mandala Dreams - Oku No In

Controls:

You can move using

  • The arrow keys of your keyboard
  • WASD (or ZQSD for French folks)
  • Any stick or d-pad of a controller (untested)

You can also combine them (like using both hands on the keyboard or using two sticks on a controller)

Platforms available:

  • Windows
  • Linux
  • Mac (untested)

Note: Chrome and Windows may tell you that the game can be dangerous, because I didn't take the time to make it trusted. And on Windows, I couldn't hide the black console window, sorry about that...

The game was made using Godot 3 and suffers from some limitations of the engine, so next release probably won't be until Godot 4 is out.

Very enjoyable rhythm game! I recommend it.

My suggestion for improvement would be different shapes for the enemy types, with clearly distinct sillhouettes, rather than relying on headband colours only.

Hey, thanks for the comment! (sorry I didn't see it).

You can also rely on the numbers above their heads which indicate their remaning lives!

One day, i will finish the main track. Remember these words.

Would highly recommend this game to anyone looking for a beat/rhythmn game. It runs smoothly and plays well and the song choice is pretty good. It's also got a bit of a challenge to it and you might find that even the tutorial level might be a bit difficult but other than that the game in it's entirety is fun and you'll have a good time trying to get a good score on the two levels currently in the game :D

Ay thank you for your comment, I'm glad you had a good time!
